There are different versions of Scid out there right now. The well-known Scid v.s PC/MAC, which works in the database format *.si4 and can therefore store 16,777,216 games, and Scid 5.0, released in 2023, which works in the new database format *.si5, which can now manage several billion games.
In addition to the database files, weekly update files are also provided here, which contain the new games since the release of the new database.
To unzip the files, Windows 7-Zip or another program that can handle the 7z format is required. On Mac, unpacking is possible with Keka, for example.
Caution
Using non-Latin characters (e.g. Arabic) in file paths can cause problems when unpacking archives under Windows 11. Please only use Latin characters in file paths and folder names to extract the archives.

- In databases and PGN files up to 04/08/2026, players with abbreviated names (e.g., “Rohde, M.”) were incorrectly assigned to the wrong FIDE player, especially if a player with a double surname existed who shared an identical surname component (e.g., “Gambirazio Rohde, Mariano”). As a result, incorrect player names, FIDE IDs, and Elo ratings could appear in the export. Variant detection has been revised. Double surnames no longer generate single-surname variants; matching resolves ambiguities via a surname depth comparison, and initials are correctly treated as partial matches. Affects all OTB-PGN and OTB database files.
